Michael Drues, Ph.D.

Dr. Michael Drues is President of Vascular Sciences, a consulting firm for medical device, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. He has worked for and consulted with companies ranging in size from start-ups to Fortune 100 companies. Dr. Drues also works on a regular basis for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). His areas of expertise include prototype design, product development, testing and evaluation, animal and clinical trials, strategic planning and regulatory affairs.

Dr. Drues regularly conducts training for medical device, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, the European Patent Office and the FDA. Training seminars include Designing Cardiovascular Devices, Designing Neurovascular Devices, Designing Peripheral Vascular Devices, Minimally Invasive Technologies, Combination Products, Biotechnology and Regulatory Affairs.

Dr. Drues is also an Adjunct Professor of Medicine & Biotechnology at Northeastern University (Boston), University of Wisconsin (Madison) and University of California (Irvine). He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in pathophysiology, biotechnology, medical devices, clinical trials and regulatory affairs. Dr. Drues received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.
